Hong Kong action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping, who has worked for "The Matrix" and "Kill Bill" series, has signed up to direct the English-language film "Vigilantes: The Lost Order", according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film will be a co-production between China and Canada, and will feature a Hollywood cast. It will be Yuen's first Hollywood attempt as a director. Production is slated to begin next year.
Reportedly the first in a trilogy, the film centers on a female assassin whose efforts to avenge her father's murder lead her to uncover a conspiracy in the world of international high finance.
Yuen is well known internationally for his action choreography in a string of films, including "The Matrix", "Kill Bill", "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "The Forbidden Kingdom". His most recent work as a director is the 2010 Chinese martial-arts film "True Legend", starring Vincent Zhao, Jay Chou and Zhou Xun.
