Everyone's a critic: Lost at sea?
"The film amused me and my son with its lovely characters and simple story. The fourth installment continues the adventures of Scrat, while also focusing more on the importance of family. Among the new characters, Sid the sloth's grandma is very funny. Her character reminded me of the importance of care for the elderly. However, the 3-D effects in the film weren't very good."
"Compared to Madagascar 3, Ice Age 4 is weaker both in plot and comic effects. The imagination seen in the previous films has been replaced by clichéd 'happy family' values and a plot wherein the hero saves the day. If this is all they can come up with, then please, no more sequels! In fact the most diverting part came when we got to see the real actors at the end as they were dubbing the film."
"As one of my favorite series, Ice Age 4 didn't let me down, but it wasn't as good as some of the previous installments. The scenes at sea, featuring the pirates, sirens and the pet whale, were not very innovative but were still fairly entertaining. The story was easy to understand, and the jokes were fairly good."
