Red Loop Media, a leading provider of mobile cloud marketing services, today announced it has been selected by China National Radio Mobile to provide mobile advertising services for their mobile TV and radio applications. CNR Mobile, the country's largest provider of mobile TV and radio programming, is among just a handful of firms to be granted one of China's most coveted national mobile video-audio programming service licenses by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT).
CNR, founded in 1940, is part of the China Radio, Film and Television Group (CRFTG), a state-owned media giant that includes China Central Television (CCTV), China Radio International (CRI), and China Film Group Corporation (CFGC). In 2007, CNR established CNR Mobile to deliver a broad range of mobile radio and TV programming for news and entertainment to more than 700 million subscribers nationwide.
China's rapid growth in mobile has propelled it to the world's largest market for smartphones, which has fueled the demand for mobile content from their traditional media providers. According to a new PwC report, "Global Entertainment and Media Outlook 2012-2016," China now ranks as the third largest market for entertainment and media worldwide. The number of mobile Internet subscribers is expected to reach 2.9 billion by 2016 with 1 billion of those in China alone.
"With the proliferation of smartphones and tablets, consumers spend ever-increasing amounts of time interacting with their mobile devices, which has led to significant demand for our high-quality content on those devices. As the state-level platform for digital media, we are making full use of our extensive resources to create a rich mobile video and audio experience for our subscribers," said Andrew Zhang, President and CEO of CNR Mobile. "Our goal is to deliver world-class programming to our audience while promoting the rapid and healthy development of the new media industry. The partnership with Red Loop Media launches our new ad-supported model, which helps us serve our subscribers by delivering our top-quality programming with a best-in-class user experience. Red Loop Media's comprehensive ad services, combined with their commitment to secure, clear and accurate data measurement and reporting makes us confident in our future collaboration."
"We are honored to be working with CNR Mobile, one of the most powerful and respected state-level media companies in China. Our MMBridge(SM) portfolio of mobile advertising services and technologies helps CNR Mobile achieve their goal of modernizing their media and delivering their top-quality programming by effectively partnering with leading advertisers," said Teashah Yang, CEO of Red Loop Media. "CNR Mobile is uniquely positioned as the dominant player in this market. In addition to having a massive subscriber base of 700 million users they hold one of China's extremely rare national mobile video-audio programming service licenses and they drive the mobile video services for China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom. CNR Mobile has definitely set the gold standard for mobile entertainment in China."
Red Loop Media is the first provider of mobile advertising services in China to be certified to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) mobile advertising guidelines for quality assurance and measurement. The certification provides publishing partners and advertising clients with a high degree of confidence that their chosen advertising service partner is open, accurate and reliable.
