The upcoming racing action film "Motorway" is set to be released in June in Hong Kong and on the mainland. Behind the scenes, there is Johnny To and his crew from Milkway producing the film, Mtime.com reports.
Known as a pioneer in HK new generation directors, director Cheang Pou-Soi proved himself in "Horror Hotline…Big Head Monster."
It's the second cooperation for Cheang and To, following "Accident" in 2009.
"In "Accident", Johnny To gave me a great deal of advice and guided me throughout the shoot," Cheang says. "This time he gave me more space to establish my own brand."
"The director has his own way of telling a story," Johnny To states. "I wish that he could shoot the film by himself. He needs more freedom in self-creation."
The races are another highlight for the film. "I love those American car-racing movies in the1960s and 1970s. Cars were driven by real actors," said Cheang. "I hope 'Motorway' can achieve this too."
