A still photo of "Inseparable" features three leads. [Photo: douban]Dayyan Eng, the director of "Waiting Alone", revealed yesterday on his Sina Weibo account, China's most popular microblogging platform, that his latest film "Inseparable" is set to hit the big screen very soon, mtime.com reports.
In a telephone interview, Dayyan Eng stated he was excited about the film's impending release. Prior to the release date, cast and crew members will partake in an intense promotional campaign.
After withdrawing from the industry for around 5 years following his 2004 film "Waiting Alone," Dayyan Eng began shooting "Inseparable" in 2009. Starring Oscar winner Kevin Spacey, actress Gong Beibi and actor Daniel Wu, the film was completed at the beginning of 2011. The film was showcased and received positive feedback at the 16th Busan International Film Festival held in October. However, since then, there has been no official word on the timing of the film's mainland release.
Dayyan Eng posted on his weibo account yesterday afternoon, stating, "I finally got word of the film's release date from the investors. 'Inseparable' will be released soon. Daniel Wu, Gong Beibi and I are preparing to promote the film together. It's been said that the release date will be announced within the next few days. Hope they announce it as soon as possible. We've been waiting so long. Thank you for your patience and support."
One industry insider believes that "Inseparable" will be released on mainland cinema screens some time in May.
