[Photo: douban]Hot on the heels of picking up the Best New Actor Award at the 48th Golden Horse Awards, director Giddens Ko's romance "You are the Apple of My Eye" is confirmed to hit Mainland China's cinemas some time between January 1st and the 10th next year.
According to a report in the Southern Metropolis Daily, the mainland distributor was quoted as saying, "The movie is currently waiting for approval from the National Film Board. The content won't be that different from the original edition."
At the 24th Tokyo International Film Festival, which took place from October 20-30, the director revealed that the film would be released on the mainland, and beared this in mind during the filming process. "I've prepared backup materials for the sensitive content that may be disapproved by the Film Board," he said in an interview. So, there is no need for movie fans to worry about losing the original flavor when watching Ko's latest creation on mainland cinema screens.
"You are the Apple of My Eye" has now entered Hong Kong's Top 10 Box-Office Records knocking An Lee's "Lust, Caution" off the list. Rumor has it that the production company of the movie is looking forward to a projected minimum of 100 million RMB in financial returns from Mainland China.
