As of November 13, Ko's film had made around 51 million Hong Kong Dollars in its 25 days of screening.
Ranking at eighth position on the list, the movie successfully beat Ang Lee's suspense blockbuster "Lust, Caution" which formerly stood at the tenth spot and has now been bumped off the list.
"You are the apple of My Eye" is looking forward to topping the highest name on the chart, Stephen Chow's 2005 film, Kung Fu Hustle which made 61.28 million Hong Kong Dollars.
The director was very excited about hearing the news, saying, "It's a huge honor to be compared with Chow, he is a god to me."
Although the romance film features no famous stars, it is maintaining strong box-office results and has audiences intrigued.
