Xiaoxiao (Shu Qi):Is it love, or is it just affection
When their story resumes in "If You Are the One II", Xiaoxiao and Qin Fen have been in a relationship for two or three years. They've had their fights as well as many sweet moments. However, it's still not the right time to talk about marriage. Xiaoxiao's friendship with Mango is another highlight of the film. As Shu Qi explains, "Li Xiangshan and Mango are Qin Fen's and Xiaoxiao's best friends. I got to know Mango through Li Xiangshan because they were married. I became a good friend of Mango, and Qin Fen and Li Xiangshan are buddies.".
There are two scenes from the shoot that Shu Qi will never forget. "One was the scene of me driving a car. This was quite dramatic, since I don't have a driver's license, and I literally don't know how to drive. When I have to drive in a film, the crew will usually block the street for me: I mean the entire street is completely blocked off. Even then, I only know how to drive forwards. This time however, before I got into the car, the director told me that the street would not be blocked. I kept worrying, what if a car was coming? I was very nervous and warned Yao Chen, who was sitting in the car with me, to be cautious. I was extremely worried about her safety. Plus, there was a huge amount of camera equipment mounted on the car. While filming me, the camera was on her side, and while filming her, the camera was right in my way. It was such a huge camera. So not only was I a lousy driver, but I also had to sit in the driver's seat at the proper angle for the camera. What's worse was there was a bus coming right behind me, and I had to keep in character. It made Yao Chen totally freak out. We had to do so many takes of that scene. My driving skills improved so much that now, I think I'm good enough to be a race car driver. I can even drive now with one hand. I think I'm a natural driver."
There was another scene at a suspension bridge that haunts Shu Qi until today. "I am the kind of person who is terribly afraid of heights. I mentioned that many times to Feng Xiaogang, and asked him if he could use a stand in instead of me. Of course they found me a stunt girl, but the director in the end still thought it was not real enough if we used her. He insisted on asking me to give it a try. I had to agree but said I would only try it once. I nearly collapsed on that bridge. Ge You was so sweet. While we were on the bridge he talked to me all the way, to ease my fear and distract me from the horror. He told me just to look at his head, without looking elsewhere, and kept asking me whether I'm ok. So I ended up doing the shot several times. But if you ask me to do it again, I'll never agree. In the other hand, it shows what a sweet guy Ge You is".
