The Hollywood Reporter, a leading entertainment industry publication, claims that 'The Sorcerer and the White Snake' (previously known as 'Its Love') is one of the ten movies people should pay attention to at this year's Venice International Film Festival.

The publication stated that the movie is "a visually lavish epic fantasy that happily marries the latest advances in CGI and action techniques with ancient Chinese fable and a Buddhist atmosphere", following the screening of the film to the media at the 64th International Film Festival on September 3.

Tony Ching Siu Tung's latest costume film, 'The Sorcerer and the White Snake' held its world premiere ceremony in Venice. Producer Yang Zi and major cast members Jet Li, Eva Huang and Charlene Choi were all in attendance.

According to an Mtime.com report, foreign media spoke highly of the movie's special effects and carefully choreographed Kung Fu action scenes following the screening.

The producer, Yang Zi told media that the presale of the overseas copyright has set a new standard for Chinese films. "We have recovered 70-80% of our costs through the sale of the overseas copyright", Zi revealed.
