Judges' Panel for Golden Goblet Award Announced

The organizing committee of the 14th Shanghai International Film Festival announced the judges' panel of the Golden Goblet Award and Asian New Talent Award at its news conference yesterday.

According to officials, American director, Barry Levinson, will chair the jury of Golden Goblet Award, other judges includes Vietnamese French director Anh Hung Tran, British playwright Christopher Hampton, Japanese director Youichi Sai, Spanish actress Paz Vega, Chinese director Wang Quan'an and Chinese actress Zhang Jingchu.

As for the Asian Talent Award, Japanese director Shuji Iwai will be the president of the jury. Chinese director Alex Law and actress Guey Lun Mei are on the list of jury members.

The organizers said 1,519 films from 102 countries have applied to compete for the Golden Goblet. Over 300 stars and filmmakers will shine at the red carpet of the opening ceremony with the present of John Woo, Feng Xiaogang, Fan Bingbing, Li Bingbing, Oscar winning actress Susan Sarandon, Hollywood actress Mischa Barton and actor Matt Dillon on June 11.
