Chinese drama film, "Death Dowry" ("Mi Xiang"), starring actress Tao Hong will open in local cinemas on September 29, Sina.com.cn reports.
The art-house film tells a tear-jerking story about Mi Xiang, the mother of a mentally retarded boy, who remarries a hunchbacked collier, eying compensation in case he dies.
Tao Hong, who also produced the film, became familiar to the audience with the 2002 film "Life Show" ("Sheng Huo Xiu") which won her wide acclaim.
"Death Dowry" premiered last year at the 33rd Montreal World Film Festival in Montreal, Canada, where it was selected for the First Film World Competition.
