The Hong Kong film "The Fantastic Water Babes" released a trailer showcasing its comedic elements, Mtime.com reports.The film's release has been delayed for about two years, as a result of lead actress Gillian Chung's infamous 2008 sex photo scandal. The film is now scheduled to hit the big screen on July 6th.
The film is directed by Jeffrey Lau and stars Gillian Chung, Stephen Fung, Huang Shengyi, Alex Fong and former Chinese Olympic diving champion Tian Liang. This is actress Chung's first film as a lead following the photo scandal with disgraced actor-singer Edison Chen.
"The Fantastic Water Babes" is a romantic comedy that was filmed in 2007. Chung plays an innocent girl who is dumped by her boyfriend and plans to win back his love. She decides to learn how to swim to get her revenge through the help of a swim coach played by Alex Fong. During the process, they evolve from quarrelsome enemies to lovers. In the end Chung blossoms from a swimming novice to a fantastic water babe through Fong's guidance.
