Hong Kong director Pang Ho-cheung's romance film "Love In a Puff" has passed the review of mainland officials and will open in cinemas nationwide on June 18, Xkb.com.cn reports.
The romance film was classified as a Category III movie in Hong Kong cinemas, because of its portrayal of one-night stands and a large number of smoking scenes. But Pang preferred to call it the "most purified Category III movie."
This love story hinges on Hong Kong's smoking ban in public places. Miriam Yeung and Shawn Yu play a pair of smokers at the heart of the story. Pang said the essence of "Puff," which premiered at 34th Hong Kong International Film Festival in March, is capturing reality.
