Director : Hong Sang-soo | South Korea | 2009 | Colour | 126min
Anyone who has experienced the inner workings of film festivals will find the latest by Hong Sang-soo (Woman on the Beach) to be absurd yet accurate. Those who are not privy will not be left out, however, as this is one of the director's most sharply comic tales. Though the protagonist is once again a rather pathetic man-child, his bumbling desperation with women will strike a chord with anyone who's ever enjoyed a Woody Allen film. Hilarious, melancholic and offbeat, Hong uses the mirror to reflect upon his own bizarro world, one that we can all relate to.
