China Movie Channel (CMC) was launched on January 1, 1996 and owns CCTV-6 and two pay TV channels: China Home Cinema for domestic audience and China Movie Channel for Hong Kong and North America. CMC now broadcasts over 10 well-received programs such as China Film Report, and plays 11 films, Chinese or foreign, feature or non-feature, within every 24 hours. By 2008 CMC's broadcasting may be reached by 927 million audiences from home and abroad. In addition to the investment in 110 or so telecines every year, CMC also organizes and rebroadcasts some celebrations for film events and major national and international film award presentation ceremonies, e.g. China Film Huabiao Award, Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Award, the Academy Award of the USA, etc.
